We regulate through connection

SCHOOL PROGRAMMESPARENTS PROGRAMME
Welcome to The Calm Coach

Every child deserves access to free nervous system regulation for schools — and the opportunity to understand how their body and brain respond to stress. Every adult around them deserves the same.

The Calm Coach brings short video lessons into schools, from EYFS to KS5, plus a six-week staff programme, because co-regulation starts with a regulated adult. There is also a companion course for parents and carers, and a corporate programme, so regulation becomes part of everyday life.

Created by a Teaching Assistant and Wellbeing Practitioner, The Calm Coach brings practical, ready-to-use tools into schools, homes and workplaces, building calmer, more connected classrooms and communities.

The Idea Behind This

Children don’t learn emotional regulation on their own. They learn it through the calm, connected adults around them. This is known as co-regulation – the process by which children develop their own ability to regulate by first experiencing it with others.

That’s why children often take their emotional cues from the most regulated adult in the room. When the adults around them, at school and at home, understand and manage their own nervous systems, they’re better able to help children feel safe, connected and ready to learn.

The Calm Coach is built on this simple idea: By supporting both children and the adults who care for them, we can help a generation grow up with skills many of us only discover as adults.

What's On Offer?
For School Children

Free, pre-recorded video programmes for pupils from EYFS to KS5, each with its own six-week course, ready to play within either PSHE or form time.

For School Staff

A six-week programme for teachers and school staff, around 15 minutes a session; simple enough for a staff meeting. I also encourage the One Minute Reset to be practised with pupils, so regulation becomes as normal as taking the register.

For Parents and Carers

A seven-week course (includes a bonus lesson on anxiety) that helps parents and carers to bring similar tools home, reinforcing what children learn at school.

For Corporate

A six-week programme for workplace teams, covering similar tools and concepts adapted for adult wellbeing at work. Offered in return for a donation, which helps fund free access for schools, ensuring calmer, more resilient workplaces too.

A FREE Resource to Support Your Inclusion Strategy

The new Inclusive Mainstream Fund is designed to help schools strengthen inclusive, universal provision, remove barriers to learning and participation, and offer earlier support for commonly occurring needs.

The Calm Coach complements this work directly, giving schools a FREE, ready-to-use, whole-school approach to understanding stress and self-regulation, helping create calmer, safer and more supportive learning environments for every child.

All I Ask In Return

Everything for children and staff is free, with no catch and no hidden cost. All I ask in return is that schools share the Calm Coach Handout document (available below) with parents and carers through their usual communication channels. The handout introduces families to Calm Coach and the optional 7-week Parents & Carers course, which offers further understanding and practical support for nervous system regulation at home.

Support The Calm Coach

The programmes for UK schools, children and educational staff are completely free. If you’d like to help me to reach more schools and keep this work growing, you can make a small contribution here.

My Mission

I’ve spent nearly ten years working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school. Alongside that, I run a wellbeing practice. Seeing the same struggles from both perspectives has completely changed the way I think about emotional wellbeing.

In the classroom, I sit with children doing their very best to cope with big feelings, without understanding why their bodies respond the way they do. In my therapy room, I meet adults carrying those same patterns years later. And at home, I’ve watched them unfold in my own children as they’ve grown up.

None of us were ever taught these things. I wasn’t either, until I went looking for the answers myself, spending years studying the nervous system, the body, and the psychology behind why we react the way we do. Even then, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something missing. I kept thinking about all the children who could benefit from understanding their nervous systems much earlier in life, and all the adults around them who had never been given these skills either.

As word of my work spread, parents and tutors increasingly began contacting me to ask if I could help children struggling with anxiety and overwhelm. Every conversation reinforced what I’d already been feeling: the need was far bigger than I could ever meet through one-to-one work alone. It left me wondering: what if we’d been given these tools as children? And what if the adults raising and teaching us had been given them too? That’s why I built a free nervous system regulation programme for schools across the UK.

My dream is for something like the One Minute Reset to become as naturally ingrained in the school day as taking the register, and for these skills to sit within the curriculum itself; as essential as maths and English. When we understand our bodies and expand our capacity, we become happier, healthier and more ready and able to learn. That’s why I created The Calm Coach, to help children, the adults who support them, and the families who love them build these skills together, one school at a time.

Praise for the Programmes

“I have found attending Victoria’s sessions a positive, enlightening experience. Victoria ensures all attendees are calm and relaxed before beginning, gently guiding the group through a tranquil and enjoyable. Attending these sessions have absolutely helped me to understand ways in which to calm an overthinking mind, focus on breathing and spend time relaxing and focusing on myself.”
— Samantha, Teaching Assistant

“Victoria set up a weekly meditation session in the school which was a great way to calm busy minds! Her voice is very calming and the parts that were repeated each week became a reassuring, familiar process that you could really relax into. I definitely became better at letting thoughts drift by and realising that I could come back to them later and that nothing would go drastically wrong if I didn’t focus on them straight away. When I couldn’t attend a live session I used the recording at home and found it just as good, showing just how good Victoria is at what she does.”
— Eleanor, Deputy Head Teacher

“I really enjoyed that assembly. I am going to try what you showed us tonight because I find it hard to go to sleep.”
— Student, Age 8

“I recently completed a 6-week programme with Victoria from The Calm Coach, and I can honestly say it has made a real difference to my day-to-day life. The techniques and strategies Victoria taught me have helped me manage stress more effectively, both at work and in my personal life. From the very first session, Victoria made me feel completely at ease. She is warm, approachable, and creates a supportive environment where you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend working with Victoria to anyone looking for practical ways to better manage stress and improve their wellbeing. My advice would be to fully embrace the process and keep an open mind, as the techniques genuinely work. I’ve learned so much throughout the programme and will continue to use these tools in my everyday life for years to come”
